This spring and summer I was involved in the ousting of a Class B Animal Dealer from the Montcalm County Animal Shelter. I have always been more hands on with animals than being an advocate. But this summer, I tuned into an ADVOCATE....BIG TIME.
We all knew for a decades that we had a Class B Animal Dealer working out of Howard City in Montcalm County. He would take animals from the shelter and sell them for big profit. What happened to these animals was never always disclosed and his nefarious activities were concerning the good people of Montcalm County for years. After a 30 year fight to repeal his carte' blanche standing with regard to cats and dogs from the shelter, the people rallied and FINALLY he was ousted from the shelter. I was involved in this process and am pleased to report that he no longer can take animals from the Montcalm Animal Shelter. With help of other concerned citizens, we are taking on the job he provided the county in exchange for having his pick of the animals. It's costing a lot of out of pocket money for me who put her money where her mouth is, but through donations, I'm making it happen. If you feel compelled to send money to me personally to pay my $350 per month animal disposition bill, please send it on! Ain't to proud to beg! For more about pound seizure, please visit: http://cccmontcalm.org/
Why is this on my personal blog, "There is more to me than cats", you ask?
Because this was advocacy taken on by Carol (the person), not Carol's Ferals the organization. And I can't fundraise under my non-profit, so I'm begging money from my friends this way.
If you feel compelled to help me pay some of this bill, please make donations to me personally via my own personal paypal account at: dollmouse@gmail.com
Thanks for considering!
